Backaplan is being transformed in partnership with City of Gothenburg
City of Gothenburg is paving the way for new nurseries, compulsory schools, a sports centre and a new cultural centre in Backaplan. The green area along Kvillebäcken stream is being developed into a district park, with a number of smaller parks near the homes, together forming a green lane. A new tramway will be built with a travel centre at the Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen hub, and there will be a new commuter train station at Brunnsbomotet, just north-east of Backaplan of the future. Development is taking place in line with the RiverCity Gothenburg Vision and the programme for Backaplan.
