HOUSING

IN BACKAPLAN of the future

What could be more important than creating homes where people feel safe, comfortable and relaxed?
The homes we are creating here are the realisation of a vision for Backaplan as a place where people will want to live for years to come. Backaplan of the future should provide good living solutions for every stage of life, whether someone is looking for a tenant/owner property, a rental property, a student apartment or a retirement home.

Housing

Backaplan of the future will offer energy-efficient homes with different forms of tenure. The diverse range of homes will provide access to outdoor spaces, roof terraces, community gardens and social meeting places. It will be a neighbourhood open to everyone!

There are plans for approximately 7,000 homes, with easy access to shops, services and transport links.

Growing power

Backaplan of the future will be a community where people thrive, generation after generation. It will be somewhere that new arrivals to the city can settle and call home. That is why we are investing in new schools and preschools, as well as sports facilities and communal spaces. Put simply, spaces to grow and thrive in.

A green neighbourhood

Backaplan of the future is built around four courtyard blocks that are divided in turn into several individual sections. Each block will have leafy inner courtyards linked by green corridors. As this new green neighbourhood emerges, a large district park will be joined by three slightly smaller neighbourhood parks providing space for relaxation and recreation.
The Kvillebäcken stream runs through the area, bringing even greater diversity to local ecosystems.
The plan is for each and every street to have trees and other vegetation, creating idyllic picnic spots in the heart of Backaplan.

How are you incorporating sustainability?

The sustainability issue is an important one for us. We consider sustainability at every stage – from choosing materials for building foundations to our plans for neighbourhood facilities. Our ambition is to develop a city neighbourhood that takes into account the UN’s sustainability goals in terms of climate, mobility and social sustainability.
